This item is an antique American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl with handles (historically called a nappy or an ice bucket depending on its depth).
Key Characteristics & Origins Time Period: These pieces were produced during the American Brilliant Period, which spanned from roughly 1876 to 1916.
Material: It is made of high-lead-content crystal, which makes it exceptionally heavy, clear, and highly reflective.
Design Features: The item features intricate geometric motifs like the Harvard pattern (small intersecting diamond grids) alongside a prominent multi-point starburst pattern.
Handles: The thick, molded/cut glass handles rising directly from the rim are a hallmark of serving dishes and ice tubs from this era.
