Vintage English Oak Barley Twist Candlesticks

These are vintage English oak barley twist candlesticks. This distinctive spiral design, reminiscent of twisted sugar candy, grew highly popular during the Jacobean and William & Mary eras in the 17th century and experienced major revivals during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods (circa 1880–1930s).

Traditionally hand-turned from solid English Oak, known for its heavy, durable nature and prominent grain pattern.

The "Barley Twist": The central column features a smooth, continuous spiral configuration. Some varieties feature an "open twist" where the center is hollowed out.

The Bases: They rest on wide, stable, turned circular bases designed to catch any dripping wax
